§ 04 · Narrative

The campaign

Situation → strategy → work → result — what we started with, what we did, and what changed.

01 · Situation

A specialist against the global brands

The operator builds tailored trips across Peru and South America, and Machu Picchu tours are the heart of its business. The site had a Domain Rating of 41. The searches that turn into bookings, like 'peru tours' and 'trip to machu picchu cost', sat at #8, behind global travel brands and high-authority publishers, and its share of voice was 8.98%. Success meant top-three rankings for the tour searches, a bigger share of voice across the Peru and Machu Picchu topics, and showing up when travellers ask AI to plan the trip.

02 · Strategy

Back the two pages that sell

The angle. People who've been. Travel writers and bloggers who describe a trip in their own words are exactly where travellers read before booking, and where a specialist operator belongs as the recommendation.

The target list. Independent travel blogs, travel magazines and adventure writers, mostly in English with a few Spanish-language travel sites.

The mix. Editorial links for authority, digital PR for brand mentions in travel coverage, and on-page work to tighten the tour pages and travel guides.

The pages. The two pages that take bookings, Machu Picchu and Peru tours. The guides already brought readers. The tour pages bring revenue, so that's where the authority went.

03 · The work

What was actually done

Build authority to the two pages that sell the trips, the Machu Picchu page and the Peru tours page, and tighten the travel guides around them so the whole cluster pulled together.

04 · Result

#1 for the searches that bring bookings

40 editorial links over seven months. 19 went to the Machu Picchu page, 14 to the Peru tours page and 7 to the homepage, with anchors that described the trip, like 'guided Machu Picchu tours' and 'Peru travel packages', or used the brand name. Every site went through M-Flux first, which scores domain rating, real organic traffic, topical relevance, outbound link ratio and uptime history. The ones that passed were checked by a person against our 33-point list, from editorial quality to sponsor disclosure. The operator approved every site before it went live. On the site we optimised the tour pages, strengthened how the Peru and Machu Picchu pages fit together, and tightened the copy so each page was clear and ready to book.

§ 06 · Why the result holds

Method, not luck

Every site in this campaign was scored by M-Flux and passed a 33-point manual quality check, and the client approved it before the link went live. That's why the profile holds up — and why the result keeps compounding after the campaign ends.

§ 07 · In their words
